This stunning engineered oak floor goes through a long smoking or fuming process resulting in a wonderfully deep, inky oak harkening back to well-trodden oak floors that have seen plenty of life.
Rich, dark and sumptuous our Vintage Hearth hand-aged and hand-worked oak flooring creates a statement floor of timeless charm & style. With a bold sense of design, you can create fabulous interiors with this gorgeous oak. Sure to add a warming finish to your home, this charming character grade oak flooring with subtle colour variations, has been deep smoked & finished with a satin hardwax oil to create a hard-wearing finish with a super attractive lustre that is very easy to maintain.
An authentically hand-aged wood grain allows these large planks to fill any space with a bold, stylish look. The 24cm width of each individual board creates an impressive finish, whilst the artisanal hand antiqued design adds to the impact of this beautiful dark smoked engineered oak flooring. Large knots and deeply textured lines casually flow around the wood to emphasise the quality of these oak floorboards. Fantastically hard-wearing and brilliantly practical, this engineered oak flooring is the perfect addition to any modern-day home.
Vintage Hearth oak floor is available in 1.5cm (15mm) thick engineered boards, 220cm in length and 24cm wide (2200mm x 240mm) – a stunning rustic, super-wide, antique oak floor. This engineered wood flooring has an individually distressed, hand-worked face and characterful hand-distressed pillow edges. Installation information can be found under the specification & product download tabs. This is 15mm thick engineered oak flooring with a 11mm ply back and 4mm solid oak surface.

| Grade | RUSTIC GRADE: Rustic grade wood has the largest range of colour variation, sap content and allows almost a limitless size and number of knots. There will be checks (stable splits) across & between the growth rings, all of which add to its natural charm. Filler will be used and the colour is traditionally dark, carefully selected to compliment the oak rather than to match it or ‘disappear’. Rustic grade oak produces a stunning, traditional vintage looking floor. |
| Glue-Down | We recommend fixing engineered oak, where possible, with the Glue-down method. Using a high-quality adhesive will result in the most stable floor installation as the base of each board is bonded directly to the sub-floor. No underlay is needed and no gluing of the tongue and groove is required. We recommend Bona Quantum flexible wood flooring adhesive though many other brands are available – speak with your installer as they will likely have a tried and tested product they can supply. |
| Floating | Glue-down method is not appropriate for sub-floors that are damp, are mixed i.e. timber subfloor combined with concrete/screed sub-floor or have specific requirements such as acoustic deadening. With sub-floors of this type the Floating installation method will likely be proposed by your installer. The boards are not fixed to the sub-floor but instead uses the weight of the floor itself to keep them in place, usually with the use of an underlay between the sub-floor and boards. The tongue & groove would normally be glued in a floating installation. NB: Beswick stone do not provide underlay, glue or any other wood installation product. |
| Blending | Shade and colour variation should be expected in our real timber engineered oak products. Each board will react differently to the finishing processes used and have unique characteristics such as knots and highlighted grain. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As always when laying real timber flooring a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended. |
