Ancient French porcelain is a fabulous aged look porcelain tile. The internal format has been a huge success since we launched it and we are delighted to announce the matching 20mm thick dedicated external version is now available from stock too. Our Ancient French porcelain is a remarkable reproduction of genuine French limestone, coupling a fabulous surface aesthetic with an authentic looking worn edge. Showing all the characteristics of the original limestone, Ancient French external porcelain is an outstanding choice for those desiring a low-maintenance external porcelain but with the look and charm of real stone. Ancient French Beige is a pale sandy coloured tile, close in appeareance to west country Bath stone. Ancient Frenc Marron is a unique pale chestnut colour, full of charm & character. The wonderful aged edge and textured face to these tiles just adds to the majestic time-worn appearance. Pair with our best-selling internal Ancient French indoor porcelain to create that inside to outside flow so desirable now.

| External Installation Points | External formats are 20mm thick so can be installed on a standard MOT type 1 base, onto a prepared concrete/screed base or via a dry raised/floating installation using fixed or self levelling pedestals. If installing onto MOT then a wet sand & cement mortar mix must be used with the addition of SBR & SBR mixed with powdered to cement to form a bonding slurry used to prime the backs of the impervious tiles to provide a key for bonding. If installing onto concrete/screed a good quality external grade grey tile adhesive can be used. Tiles can either be grouted with a wide joint grout (we offer Rocatex Ultimate & Ardex FL grout), or finished with a brush-in resin compound or alternative jointing method. |
| Blending | Shade and colour variation should be expected in our ‘natural’ look porcelain products, no different to what you would see in real stone or timber. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As per laying real stone/timber a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended. |
