This collection is part inspired by the Chalet architecture style of France & Switzerland where pale timber is often used on all surfaces; ceiling, walls & floors! As you can imagine when wood is used in this way it needs to be relatively smooth, not overly rustic and certainly no gaping splits or massive knots. This is the look that epitomises our Classic engineered oak flooring range. With a very pale unfinished oak look, as seen in Chamonix, Barnsley & Scandi, through medium oak colours boards Heritage & Heritage Whites and finally the pale grey tones of the gorgeous Heritage Greys, Classic offers a selection of colours to suit a wide range of interior schemes. As with all our oak flooring, our Classic range is an engineered oak collection meaning every option can be installed with underfloor heating making it an ideal choice for new project builds or updates to older properties. Every board in our Classic oak flooring collection is lightly or micro-brushed accentuating the oaks natural grain & flow patterns. Being made from classic grade oak, whilst the boards will have knots & tonal variation, these are much diminished compared to our antiqued oak boards, making this range a popular choice for those projects that demand a more modern, sleeker look.
Smooth wood oak floors are representative of a traditional look of a hardwood floor that has been used in houses and architecture for many a year. A smooth engineered oak board captures its look from the character and grain of each individual oak species and selection without added ageing or antiquing accents done by hand or machine. The moniker smooth can be a little misleading however as it refers to the look of the board rather than the actual feel - all the oaks in this selection are brushed on the surface which gives them all a light texture. Often contemporary in look, our smooth oak plank flooring is available in a number of oak colours, widths and styles within engineered hardwood flooring. At Beswick Stone & Oak we carry a wide selection of wood flooring in our Cirencester showrooms so please do visit us.
