Introducing an authentic masterpiece in old oak floors we bring you our Old Wood Silvered engineered oak. When your project demands a truly beautiful, reclaimed look wood floor then transform your interior with the timeless charm of our super rustic old oak. Old Wood Silvered oak flooring is guaranteed to bring a touch of integrity and warmth to any scheme.

Harkening back to old oak floors that adorned many commercial architectures such as mills, banks and haberdashers, our Old Wood oaks replicate these ancient oak floors through uniquely developed artisanal hand-working techniques. When coupled with natural weathering, this superb floor certainly looks like it has seen many years of hobnailed boots, heavy machinery, soot and every other thing that would have been thrown at it or spilt on it back in the day. Each plank is distinct, marked by cracks, knots, chisel-marks, watermarks & scratches that emulates the rich and fascinating history of the ancient wooden floors that inspired this range.

Conceived & developed for those looking for that particular aesthetic, which can only be provided with a reclaimed oak, our engineered Old Wood Silvered provides that look of a sturdy old floor, full of history and use. With gorgeous silver-oak colours ranging from silvery-taupe through to silvery-greige, this stunning rustic floor will add grandeur and an unsurpassed elegance to your space. Old Wood Silvered weathered oak flooring is perfect for those seeking an ancient oak floor that marries a timeless beauty with an uncompromising robust durability & performance.

Design tip: You cannot go wrong incorporating this silvered oak floor into an analogous colour scheme. Plump for paint colours close to silver-grey that have a hint of taupe to harmonize effortlessly with the floor. Perennial Grey from Little Greene works perfectly or opt for Rubine Ashes is you prefer a paler shade.

Old Wood Silvered oak floor is available in 1.5cm (15mm) thick engineered boards, 220cm in length and 24cm wide (2200mm x 240mm) – a super-rustic, super-wide, reclaimed oak looking floor. Grade RUSTIC GRADE: Rustic grade wood has the largest range of colour variation, sap content and allows almost a limitless size and number of knots. There will be checks (stable splits) across & between the growth rings, all of which add to its natural charm. Filler will be used and the colour is traditionally dark, carefully selected to compliment the oak rather than to match it or ‘disappear’. Rustic grade oak produces a stunning, traditional vintage looking floor.
Glue-Down We recommend fixing engineered oak, where possible, with the Glue-down method. Using a high-quality adhesive will result in the most stable floor installation as the base of each board is bonded directly to the sub-floor. No underlay is needed and no gluing of the tongue and groove is required. We recommend Bona Quantum flexible wood flooring adhesive though many other brands are available – speak with your installer as they will likely have a tried and tested product they can supply.
Floating Glue-down method is not appropriate for sub-floors that are damp, are mixed i.e. timber subfloor combined with concrete/screed sub-floor or have specific requirements such as acoustic deadening. With sub-floors of this type the Floating installation method will likely be proposed by your installer. The boards are not fixed to the sub-floor but instead uses the weight of the floor itself to keep them in place, usually with the use of an underlay between the sub-floor and boards. The tongue & groove would normally be glued in a floating installation. NB: Beswick stone do not provide underlay, glue or any other wood installation product.
Blending Shade and colour variation should be expected in our real timber engineered oak products. Each board will react differently to the finishing processes used and have unique characteristics such as knots and highlighted grain. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As always when laying real timber flooring a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended.
