Our Hampton range of antiqued oak flooring elevates hardwood flooring into something rather special. Taking rustic oak, assessing each separate plank and applying various aging processes by hand, we create a beautiful board, stacked full of character, interest and historic charm. The sublime colour no. 07 light brushed oak is one of the palest colours in our Hampton collection, a wonderful example of an almost unfinished oak colour, but finished with a durable white UV oil.

This antiqued and light brushed engineered oak is a gorgeous light-toned oak floor with all the character markings you'd expect from real rustic grade oak including knots, lovely grain markings, natural cleaves and a subtle undulating feel to the planks. The finishing processes employed accentuate all these natural elements of the oak, bringing them into the fore, producing a delightful antiqued look floor that has a timeworn appearance with a soft, almost faded, colour palette.

Hampton colour no. 7 oak flooring is a rustic selection which means there will be numerous knots and other natural oak characteristics along with a wider tonal colour variation making this eminently suited for older properties or where a sense of the ‘old’ needs injecting into more modern schemes.

Design Tip: Designers always promote cool neutral colours for use with pale hardwood floors. Think white, neutral off-whites, and soft greys whilst avoiding warm neutrals that have yellow or earthy undertones.

Grade RUSTIC GRADE: Rustic grade wood has the largest range of colour variation, sap content and allows almost a limitless size and number of knots. There will be checks (stable splits) across & between the growth rings, all of which add to its natural charm. Filler will be used. Rustic grade oak produces a stunning, traditional vintage looking floor.
Glue-Down We recommend fixing engineered oak, where possible, with the Glue-down method. Using a high-quality adhesive will result in the most stable floor installation as the base of each board is bonded directly to the sub-floor. No underlay is needed and no gluing of the tongue and groove is required. We recommend Bona Quantum flexible wood flooring adhesive though many other brands are available – speak with your installer as they will likely have a tried and tested product they can supply.
Floating Glue-down method is not appropriate for sub-floors that are damp, are mixed i.e. timber subfloor combined with concrete/screed sub-floor or have specific requirements such as acoustic deadening. With sub-floors of this type the Floating installation method will likely be proposed by your installer. The boards are not fixed to the sub-floor but instead uses the weight of the floor itself to keep them in place, usually with the use of an underlay between the sub-floor and boards. The tongue & groove would normally be glued in a floating installation. NB: Beswick stone do not provide underlay, glue or any other wood installation product.
Blending Shade and colour variation should be expected in our real timber engineered oak products. Each board will react differently to the finishing processes used and have unique characteristics such as knots and highlighted grain. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As always when laying real timber flooring a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended.
