OUR FABULOUS OLD COFFEE OAK IN A NEW HERRINGBONE PARQUET AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER NOW - ETA MID' OCT*

This gorgeous, antiqued oak floor is classic, unadulterated oak, finished with a robust UV oil. Picture in your mind felled oak boards put down years ago that have matured and developed a beautiful character & lustre and you have our Old Coffee Herringbone Oak – a timeless looking board that definitely suits the whole range of properties from modern to traditional, no hyperbole here. This parquet or large format herringbone design adds a contemporary look to this wonderful engineered oak floor.

This isn’t small parquet blocks but large 60cm x 12cm boards – creating a dynamic wood floor chock full of character & interest founded upon the inherent characteristics of the natural oak. This is 600mm (L) x 120mm (W) x 20mm (D) engineered oak creating a stunning large format herringbone oak floor. This is natural grade oak so is less rustic than many of our other offerings. The grain is beautifully highlighted with a medium-dark oil creating a wonderful statement floor.

Technical
Grade NATURAL GRADE: Natural Grade wood (also known as Character Grade) flooring will include both heartwood and sapwood. It is an affordable and attractive option that is full of character. Natural grade allows a wider range of colour variation, knots are larger and there will be incidents of checks (stable splits) across & between the growth rings, all of which add to its natural charm. Filler will be used.
Installation Points Engineered Herringbone Oak Flooring cannot be floated over an underlay. The planks must be solidly attached (glue down method) to the sub-floor using an appropriate adhesive.
Glue-Down We recommend fixing engineered oak, where possible, with the Glue-down method. Using a high-quality adhesive will result in the most stable floor installation as the base of each board is bonded directly to the sub-floor. No underlay is needed and no gluing of the tongue and groove is required. We recommend Bona Quantum flexible wood flooring adhesive though many other brands are available – speak with your installer as they will likely have a tried and tested product they can supply.
Blending Shade and colour variation should be expected in our real timber engineered oak products. Each board will react differently to the finishing processes used and have unique characteristics such as knots and highlighted grain. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As always when laying real timber flooring a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended.
