Our Antique Heritage herringbone engineered oak floor is a fabulous large format parquet wooden floor that combines the subtlety of a pale, raw oak colour with the pep & zeal of the dynamic herringbone pattern. This artisan-worked oak flooring has undergone hand-aging & chisel or saw marking on the surface and hand-distressing of the planks edges to create a lovingly time-lived look.
This gorgeous oak herringbone floor has been brushed and worked to reveal the natural characteristics of the stunning rustic grade timber which includes various tones, knots and grains. It has then been cleverly finished with an invisible UV oil to not only give this lovely herringbone floor the much in demand ‘unfinished’ or untreated raw pale oak colour but also add strength and longevity. Boasting lovely natural pale oak hues ranging from warm ivory through eggshell & cream and onto rich latte, this light oak parquet is a stunning floor – full of flair, character & style. This floor is perfect for that adult haven hide-away, be it a romantic snug or a large living room. Antique Heritage makes a grand statement in libraries, reading rooms and studies where a touch of grandeur goes a long way. Due to the modernity of the board size, this Herringbone floor can certainly be used in contemporary schemes or to introduce a progressive touch into older refurbishments. Plank size is 60cm (L) x 12.5cm (W) x 2cm (D) - (600mm x 120mm x 20mm).
This engineered oak herringbone wood flooring has individually distressed & antiqued edges and fits together via tongue & groove. More installation information can be found under the specification tab.

Grade | RUSTIC GRADE: Rustic grade wood has the largest range of colour variation, sap content and allows almost a limitless size and number of knots. There will be checks (stable splits) across & between the growth rings, all of which add to its natural charm. Filler will be used and the colour is traditionally dark, carefully selected to compliment the oak rather than to match it or ‘disappear’. Rustic grade oak produces a stunning, traditional vintage looking floor. |
Glue-Down | We recommend fixing engineered oak, where possible, with the Glue-down method. Using a high-quality adhesive will result in the most stable floor installation as the base of each board is bonded directly to the sub-floor. No underlay is needed and no gluing of the tongue and groove is required. We recommend Bona Quantum flexible wood flooring adhesive though many other brands are available – speak with your installer as they will likely have a tried and tested product they can supply. |
Herringbone / Parquet Installation Points | Engineered Herringbone Oak Flooring cannot be floated over an underlay. The planks must be solidly attached (Glue-down method) to the sub-floor using an appropriate adhesive. |
Blending | Shade and colour variation should be expected in our real timber engineered oak products. Each board will react differently to the finishing processes used and have unique characteristics such as knots and highlighted grain. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As always when laying real timber flooring a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended. |
Cleaning | The Bona Premium Spray Mop for Oiled Wood Floor is the easiest and most effective way of cleaning oiled wood floors in the home. Simply spray and wipe the floor clean. It cleans and nourishes your oiled wood floor while providing extra protection. |
