NOW TAKING ORDERS ON OUR NEXT DELIVERY OF THIS BEST SELLING OAK - EXPECTED MID' OCT*

Rich and sumptuous this black UV oiled engineered oak flooring creates a statement floor of blackened wood. With a bold sense of design, you can create fabulous interiors with our wonderful Burlap antiqued oak flooring.

These beautifully hand-distressed oak planks draw on historic reclaimed oak to create a stunning flooring effect. With its medium oak colour, Burlap engineered oak flooring is brimming with character and personality. As with all our Salvage collection boards, Burlap oak flooring undergoes various aging techniques, all done by hand, to give it the imperfections that would be expected with a time-worn, reclaimed oak floor. From surface blemishes to edge defects, all have been added to give prominence to the vintage feel of this gorgeous oak. Each plank comes together to form a salvaged oak look with chiselled, depressed and planed areas accented. After all the hand-working is complete a very light black oil is applied that settles in the deepest grain, highlighting & accentuating the striking natural grain patterns and flow of this wonderful oak.

Design Tip: To create a softer contrast and a light, airy feel pair Burlap with light shades of wall paint. Grey, off-white, taupe & greige tones will create a bright surface to balance the darker base of the floor.

Salvage Burlap oak floor is available in 1.5cm (15mm) thick engineered boards, 190cm in length and are 19cm wide (1900mm x 190mm). This engineered wood flooring has individually distressed & antiqued edges and fits together via tongue & groove. More installation information can be found under the specification tab.

Grade RUSTIC GRADE: Rustic grade wood has the largest range of colour variation, sap content and allows almost a limitless size and number of knots. There will be checks (stable splits) across & between the growth rings, all of which add to its natural charm. Filler will be used and the colour is traditionally dark, carefully selected to compliment the oak rather than to match it or ‘disappear’. Rustic grade oak produces a stunning, traditional vintage looking floor.
Glue-Down We recommend fixing engineered oak, where possible, with the Glue-down method. Using a high-quality adhesive will result in the most stable floor installation as the base of each board is bonded directly to the sub-floor. No underlay is needed and no gluing of the tongue and groove is required. We recommend Bona Quantum flexible wood flooring adhesive though many other brands are available – speak with your installer as they will likely have a tried and tested product they can supply.
Floating Glue-down method is not appropriate for sub-floors that are damp, are mixed i.e. timber subfloor combined with concrete/screed sub-floor or have specific requirements such as acoustic deadening. With sub-floors of this type the Floating installation method will likely be proposed by your installer. The boards are not fixed to the sub-floor but instead uses the weight of the floor itself to keep them in place, usually with the use of an underlay between the sub-floor and boards. The tongue & groove would normally be glued in a floating installation. NB: Beswick stone do not provide underlay, glue or any other wood installation product.
Blending Shade and colour variation should be expected in our real timber engineered oak products. Each board will react differently to the finishing processes used and have unique characteristics such as knots and highlighted grain. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As always when laying real timber flooring a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended.
