SUMMER OFFER ON THIS NEW RICH DARK OAK - NOW £49sqm+VAT (reduced from £55)
Hampton oak colour no. 6 has been smoked & brushed, darkening the oak and creating a finish that highlights the attractiveness of the raised grain, large knots & other natural oak traits. Each board has been hand-worked to accentuate and elevate the wood’s inherent character, producing an aged oak floor aesthetic in a modern engineered plank that can be used with underfloor heating and is easier to install than solid wood.True to its name, this fabulous engineered oak flooring inspires cosiness, relaxation and comfort to provide the perfect backdrop for deep squashy sofas upon which to curl up with a good book or an even better daydream! Lending itself to a colour wheel of warm, deep shades and earthy neutrals; go strictly classical or spice things up with twists of brighter colours and bolder patterns – cushions in Mediterranean blues and yellows, or perhaps throws and rugs in striped silk? This sumptuous oak is rich in dark burnt honey colours, Hampton no. 6 is definitely an easily complemented design option and a superb all-rounder. Classic interior décor makes a perfect accompaniment for traditionalists. While bold, contemporary and even more avant-garde schemes will sit just as readily against its timeless grace and neutrality.
With rich smoked burnt tones, warmer highlights and an application of white oil, this visually arresting engineered oak flooring forms the perfect backdrop to funkier interiors. A darker floor, our Hampton aged oak #6 is perfectly suited for large open plan living areas where a timeless, natural finish flooring solution is definitely a requirement but also one that is stylish, beautiful and inexpensive. At just £49sqm+VAT & delivery, this fabulous, artisanal hand-worked oak with its highlighted grain and hand-aged and accented knots & cleaves, certainly fits the brief.
Design tip: Pair with slashes of bold bright colours like orange to form a balanced design scheme based on contrasting colours. Alternatively bring in grass greens and varied tones of aqua or turquoise to form a scheme full of the refreshing and revitalising colours of nature.

Rustic grade oak produces a stunning, traditional vintage looking floor. |
Glue-Down | We recommend fixing engineered oak, where possible, with the Glue-down method. Using a high-quality adhesive will result in the most stable floor installation as the base of each board is bonded directly to the sub-floor. No underlay is needed and no gluing of the tongue and groove is required. We recommend Bona Quantum flexible wood flooring adhesive though many other brands are available – speak with your installer as they will likely have a tried and tested product they can supply. |
Floating | Glue-down method is not appropriate for sub-floors that are damp, are mixed i.e. timber subfloor combined with concrete/screed sub-floor or have specific requirements such as acoustic deadening. With sub-floors of this type the Floating installation method will likely be proposed by your installer. The boards are not fixed to the sub-floor but instead uses the weight of the floor itself to keep them in place, usually with the use of an underlay between the sub-floor and boards. The tongue & groove would normally be glued in a floating installation. NB: Beswick stone do not provide underlay, glue or any other wood installation product. |
Blending | Shade and colour variation should be expected in our real timber engineered oak products. Each board will react differently to the finishing processes used and have unique characteristics such as knots and highlighted grain. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As always when laying real timber flooring a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended. |
Cleaning | The Bona Premium Spray Mop for Oiled Wood Floor is the easiest and most effective way of cleaning oiled wood floors in the home. Simply spray and wipe the floor clean. It cleans and nourishes your oiled wood floor while providing extra protection. |
