We are lucky to be based in a part of the country that has beautiful limestone which has been used for centuries as a building and flooring material. Situated near both the famous Cotswold limestone seam and the paler, more Regency looking Bath stone seams, our local architecture is truly blessed when touched with these historic stones. For modern installations however these stones are expensive and problematic due to their softness and dislike for underfloor heating. Avignon Heavy tumbled limestone is the definitive solution, providing the exact colour to fit in with the local vernacular but, being inherently stronger and, importantly, much cheaper than local stone, gives you the ultimate solution for your interior project. Take inspiration from the warm honey-hued facades that line the city of Bath – with this antiqued limestone flooring. It has a heavily tumbled surface, reminiscent of a well-worn floor from bygone times. Whether it’s a classic barn conversion or a contemporary new build, this hard-wearing stone will add warmth and rusticity to your interior. Complete the look with the 3cm (30mm) thick dedicated outdoor version to bring the outside in or the inside out. 

3cm thick courtyard cobbles: these lovely outdoor finished cobbles come in 15cm widths by mixed lengths and 3cm thick. Perfect for landscaping pathways, courtyards and the like.

STOP PRESS: To compliment the internal flagstones we have our brand new indoor stone steps finished with a light brushed texture. These limestone step treads, like their external counterpart, are finished with a full bullnose edge and offer the ideal solution for internal split level floors.

Postal samples ARE NOT available for our indoor & 5cm thick step treads, the colour and finish of the indoor steps is identical to the soft tumbled indoor flagstone and the 5cm is identical to the external flagstone - both of which samples can be ordered for.
