Our best-selling antiqued oak board in a stunning large parquet herringbone. This is rustic grade oak full of knots & splits, dark smoked and heavy brushed to produce an absolutely beautiful, classically aged oak floor. Our deep smoked Hampton Oak Colour no. 8 Herringbone aged oak flooring is like the brooding older brother to our lighter, more chilled Heritage Herringbone oak floor! With the different grade of oak, a longer smoking time & various hand-aging processes applied, the colours are deeper & the character more pronounced making it a great choice for country houses and older properties or any modern scheme that would benefit from some rustic charm . Plank size is 600mm (L) x 125mm (W) x 20mm (D).

Grade Rustic grade wood has the largest range of colour variation, sap content and allows almost a limitless size and number of knots. There will be checks (stable splits) across & between the growth rings, all of which add to its natural charm. Filler will be used and the colour is traditionally dark, carefully selected to compliment the oak rather than to match it or ‘disappear’. Rustic grade oak produces a stunning, traditional vintage looking floor.
Installation Points Engineered Herringbone Oak Flooring cannot be floated over an underlay. The planks must be solidly attached (Glue-down method) to the sub-floor using an appropriate adhesive.
Glue-Down We recommend fixing engineered oak, where possible, with the Glue-down method. Using a high-quality adhesive will result in the most stable floor installation as the base of each board is bonded directly to the sub-floor. No underlay is needed and no gluing of the tongue and groove is required. We recommend Bona Quantum flexible wood flooring adhesive though many other brands are available – speak with your installer as they will likely have a tried and tested product they can supply.
Blending Shade and colour variation should be expected in our real timber engineered oak products. Each board will react differently to the finishing processes used and have unique characteristics such as knots and highlighted grain. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As always when laying real timber flooring a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended.
Cleaning The Bona Premium Spray Mop for Oiled Wood Floor is the easiest and most effective way of cleaning oiled wood floors in the home. Simply spray and wipe the floor clean. It cleans and nourishes your oiled wood floor while providing extra protection.
