As traditional as a foaming tankard of great British beer (and every bit as tempting!), supped in the snug of a quaint village pub, our gorgeous Estate LD03 engineered oak flooring zings with country ale colours and natural woodland honey tones.
The pale limed oak look of this charming hand-antiqued board immediately lends a relaxed, calm and natural mood to the interior space. With its authentic time-worn distressed edge, fabulous handworked surface texture and subtle chisel saw marks, this stunning engineered oak certainly gives the look of a well-loved wooden floor. This colour is very much in demand in real wood flooring and our unique artisanal hand-aging combines with the beautiful tones to create a sublime oak floor, packed with charm, gravitas and style.
The restrained & natural colour palette pushes Estate LD03 towards a more contemporary feel, perfect for large open living spaces where a natural mood is desired. Heighten this feeling with numerous vivid green plants and you’ll have an oasis of calm, where you can chill and decompress. Estate 03 isn’t just for modern schemes however, due to its fabulous surface finishing – hand antiqued & aged, combined with a subtle, hand-distressed edge - this gorgeous oak will suit more traditional schemes too.

Structural Board 20mm Format | The 20mm thick board format can be laid directly on joists using an appropriate fixing mechanism. |
Grade | NATURAL GRADE: Natural Grade wood (also known as Character Grade) flooring will include both heartwood and sapwood. It is an affordable and attractive option that is full of character. Natural grade allows a wider range of colour variation, knots are larger and there will be incidents of checks (stable splits) across & between the growth rings, all of which add to its natural charm. Filler will be used. |
Glue-Down | We recommend fixing engineered oak, where possible, with the Glue-down method. Using a high-quality adhesive will result in the most stable floor installation as the base of each board is bonded directly to the sub-floor. No underlay is needed and no gluing of the tongue and groove is required. We recommend Bona Quantum flexible wood flooring adhesive though many other brands are available – speak with your installer as they will likely have a tried and tested product they can supply. |
Floating | Glue-down method is not appropriate for sub-floors that are damp, are mixed i.e. timber subfloor combined with concrete/screed sub-floor or have specific requirements such as acoustic deadening. With sub-floors of this type the Floating installation method will likely be proposed by your installer. The boards are not fixed to the sub-floor but instead uses the weight of the floor itself to keep them in place, usually with the use of an underlay between the sub-floor and boards. The tongue & groove would normally be glued in a floating installation. NB: Beswick stone do not provide underlay, glue or any other wood installation product. |
Blending | Shade and colour variation should be expected in our real timber engineered oak products. Each board will react differently to the finishing processes used and have unique characteristics such as knots and highlighted grain. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As always when laying real timber flooring a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended. |
Cleaning | The Bona Premium Spray Mop for Oiled Wood Floor is the easiest and most effective way of cleaning oiled wood floors in the home. Simply spray and wipe the floor clean. It cleans and nourishes your oiled wood floor while providing extra protection. |
